i am doing some testing.

cleaning up errors I'm encountering while working on getting this going. I notice there are several redundant functions across the various api scripts. I'm making a file on my system called common_api_functions.php and adding an include_once('common_api_functions.php') ; line to prevent functions from being declared more than once and thereby causing an error.

Anybody else working on the API stuff at all?

Andres,

Can you send me a copy of your file, so that I can include it on cvs.
I seem to have misplaced your earlier one.

Thanks
Tim

now that the api is 'talking', I am beginning to experiment. First with a simple customer insertion. I created a $p1 array manually for testing purposes.

The first error code I get is 1000 - defined in api/api_errorcodes.php as IncorrectDebtorNumberLength.

I didn't expect to have to insert a debtor number, this should be assigned automatically by webERP, should it not? WebERP should also check for possible duplicates prior to insertion. I haven't really explored the code beyond the API.

previous message is referring to the $p1 variable used in webERP API Connector by  Bowikaxu Realhost - bowikaxu@...
I'm testing the api_InsertCustomer() method.

Hi Laban,

That is a good point. Currently the code doesn't check to see if the
webERP setting for automatically generating Debtor Number is set. For
the implementations I have the number is created by the client app,
but I should go back and put in a check for this.

BTW I have a small demo client app that I created that shows how to
use some of the api. If you want I can send you it off list.

Here's a list of errors generated by the API when I attempt to insert an empty $p1 array with api_InsertCustomer() call, which I'm using  basically as a list of minimum parameters required to create a new customer record:

1000 IncorrectDebtorNumberLength
1002 IncorrectDebtorNameLength
1004 CurrencyCodeNotSetup
1005 SalesTypeNotSetup
1006 InvalidClientSinceDate
1007 HoldReasonNotSetup
1008 PaymentTermsNotSetup
1009 InvalidDiscount
1010 InvalidPaymentDiscount
1011 InvalidLastPaid
1012 InvalidLastPaidDate
1013 InvalidCreditLimit
1019 InvalidEDITransport

Laban,

The auto generation flag already exists in webERP, it just needs code
for checking in the api.

A number of the fields are foreign keys, Currency code, Sales type,
Hold reason and Payment terms must all exist in the relevant tables.
There is an api for checking these.

I am attaching my demo app for you to see how I set it up.

Tim
