Then, where one can check what is actually happening in xfce? I suppose that
for all this time something new appeared in xfce, doesn't it?

give a chance to the svn xfce. It is pretty good but not "stable as a
rock". In a while there should be a public beta/release candidate, so keep
your ear near.
