xar in Mac OS XI just wanted to let you guys know some good news about XAR and Mac OS
X. Apple has chose xar as the archive format for their new package format in Mac OS X 10.5. The Leopard release given to developers has the xar tool and libxar. It also has a copy of Package Maker and Installer which can create and install packages using the xar format (respectively). Although the seed is not public,I thought I would share this with you guys. We plan on sending our changes upstream as often as possible (and started a few weeks ago when I sent the changes to this list).
