x.org 7.4 on NetBSDHi,
Has anyone managed to build this on NetBSD? I downloaded all the packages and tried to build it from a build-from-tarballs.sh script I got from freedesktop.org, but after much fiddling I'm now stuck because the xorg-server-1.5.1 build can't find some package named pciaccess and I can't seem to find this package anywhere. (Doesn't seem to be in pkgsrc). Anyone managed to build this? Thanks, Brad |

(Doesn't seem to be in pkgsrc). Blair (Hi Blair — I overlooked to answer your kind message. Thanks for you mail, I'll have a look at the code asap) ported the OpenBSD version of libpciaccess there: ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/bjs/libpciaccess_netbsd.tgz He asked me to review the code, and maybe improve it. I had no time to do it until then, so feel free to replace me. If I am not mistaken, I should have more free time by the end of the month. ;) Cheers Vincent |

I've been told it works with xorg-server 1.5.1. But it also needs updated Mesa packages, which aren't available in pkgsrc yet. Kind Regards, -Tobias |

Re: x.org 7.4 on NetBSDI'm glad that there's interest in getting this working now; I only
wish I had more time. Attached are preliminary pkgsrc mesa patches [against the Mesa 7.2 branch] I've prepared. I haven't tested them inside pkgsrc yet, and I don't know if the install target works, but a dri-enabled build with libOSMesa worked fine--assuming an appropriate build environment, of course. Hope this helps. Re: x.org 7.4 on NetBSDOops, forgot the patch. Also, you can download
Mesa{Lib,GLUT,Demos}-7.2.0.tar.bz2 (the .0 is the pkgsrc patchlevel, as these tarballs are built from the 7.2 branch and not the release) from: <ftp://ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/bjs/distfiles/> Please do keep me "in the loop"; I'd like to get this working ASAP so I can use it during drm development.
