working wireless minipci cards in 802.11a or g mode under OpenBSD 4.3Hi all,
I'm looking to compile a list (of at least one :-) working minipci wireless card(s) which reliably run at the fastest supported speed under 802.11a or 802.11g on OpenBSD 4.3. The minipci card would be intended to run in a Soekris 5501 box. I've read the OpenBSD docs and searched and read a lot of documents re: BSD support for such devices, but it seems a lot of people are only having success with speeds up to 11Mbps. I am looking to get specific makes and models of minipci cards please! Thanks for your feedback. Re: working wireless minipci cards in 802.11a or g mode under OpenBSD 4.3Thanks Igor. I've read that webpage/manpage and researched several of the cards listed, but I'm looking specifically for confirmation of reliable 54Mbps wireless access from users, not just documentation that says it should work.

These work better than the Intel/PRO wireless counterparts. _______________________________________________ Soekris-tech mailing list Soekris-tech@... http://lists.soekris.com/mailman/listinfo/soekris-tech |

Re: working wireless minipci cards in 802.11a or g mode under OpenBSD 4.3Hello,
According to the OpenBSD Current Changelog [1] : Added a kernel implementation of the 4-way handshake and group-key handshake protocols of 802.11i, and a software implementation of TKIP and CCMP, making WPA/WPA2-PSK usable in both station and hostap modes for bwi(4), malo(4), ral(4), iwn(4), wpi(4), ural(4), rum(4), upgt(4), and zyd(4). Especially the ral device drivers [2] : Amigo AWI-922W. Billionton MIWLGRL. Gigabyte GN-WIKG. Gigabyte GN- WI01GS. Gigabyte GN-WI02GM. MSI MP54G2. MSI MS-6833. SparkLAN WMIR-215GN. Tonze PC-620C. Zinwell ZWX-G360. Unfortunately, these are mainly OEM Devices. However, I was able to find a International retail store for the SparkLAN WMIR-215GN [3] (but I didn't buy it at the current time ;~) !) I have cc'ed Mister Bergamini who is the author of the ral driver. He will be able to provide a better feedback on the driver status and I am sure that he will enjoy comments on his side as well ;~) ! Good luck :) ! I don't know if it does 54Mb/s, 11Mb is fine for my use. _______________________________________________ Soekris-tech mailing list Soekris-tech@... http://lists.soekris.com/mailman/listinfo/soekris-tech |
