what gun should I use

anyone know the best gun to use for killing hogs? i will be still hunting and my shot will never be over 100yds.

Since each hunting situation is different, there is not one gun best for all hog hunting.  However some calibers will cover far more situations than others.  For still hunting I have used a 25-06 and a 30-06 with equally good results.  Larger calibers aren't mandatory but give you a larger margin of error as far as shot placement goes.  I have cleanly killed many hogs with a well placed .204 shot.  But when it comes to intense situations, it is nice to have something larger with more shock value.  Equally as important to  caliber though, is being comfortable with the gun and having the confidence that you can place the shot where you want when the time comes.

223 right in the head or neck. if ur not a good shot you better go with 308 or simlar.

hey mate im from australia not sure wat guns you use.
any thing from a 222, 243, 22.250 will do the job dont need any bigger if ya ask me .....

I live close to Austin, tx. I heard they have a lot of pigs there in austraila but I thought you guys couldn't have guns anymore. maybe i'm wrong?
decided on the 30-06. it kicks like a mother but I think it will be the best all around gun.  its a auto and my g-father gave it to me when he found out i was gettin into pig hunting.
