v11 install problems

Hi All,
I have tried to download both version of v11.2 for the MAC. After t6rying to
install, my user account has become very unstable.

I had to start in target mode just to get account up. Deleted
apple.com.finder.plits and others

Still not stable. Machine shuts down when laptop cover closed for any
duration.

OS 10.4.10

Any others having this type of difficulty

TIA

Chuck

No I've had no issues..sorry not much help I know...maybe some others
can chime in as to whether they had any problems and then you can
decide whether its 4D causing the problem or whether the install of 4D
is just a red herring.

Regards, Michael.

BTW Was the account you were installing into an Admin account. Your
account isn't a "managed user" or "remote portable user" account by
any chance?

there is no 4D version for MAC  (Media Access Control).
I guess you mean Mac OS, right?

I never experienced that the installation of a 4D version would make my
System instable.
This sounds very strange to me and it would make me think that there
happened 2 things, which are not connected at all, but your mind connected it.
You installed 4D, but in the same time (or already before) something
else happened, which corrupted your system.
You need to find out, what this something else was.
Btw, I believe your system is not up-to-date - 10.4.11 would be current
and the last security update was published yesterday.
imho it is quite important to have a Unix system, like Mac OS X up-to-date.

So in your case I'd download the combi-updater for 10.4.11 and run it.
If it doesn't improve the situation, use the last stable backup or
reinstall the system.

cheers,

Matthias

Thanks

It was that particular user account. The Admin account was 100% OK.

That is why I thought it might have to do with v11.2 installer.

I am running 10.4.11

BTW. I am confused, I installed under user account and thought 4D
installer would ask for an Admin password, but it did not. Perhaps
that was part of the problem.

Regards
