Hi all.

 

Many of you in the Frisbee community will know Blair Palmer, a longtime
Ultimate Player who is completing a PhD in anthropology through ANU. Blair
and his wife Wuwun are currently living in Java, and have witnessed
firsthand the widespread devastation caused by the recent earthquake.

 

I spoke to Blair last night, and although both him and Wuwun are okay, they
are anxious to help the thousands of injured who are lying in the streets,
unable to be hospitalised due to the sheer number of victims. Blair is
appealing to his friends and anyone who is interested in donating to
consider sending money to him, so that he can buy generic medicines,
bandages, blankets, etc. and provide immediate assistance to the injured
people.

 

I stress that any donations will NOT be tax deductible, and are obviously
predicated on you knowing who Blair is.  There are also many formal avenues
through which people can donate money if you wish to do so. Blair has time
to spare, wants to help people, and knows that he can provide assistance as
soon as money arrives, without any overheads. Let me stress that if you wish
to donate, I can vouch that Blair will see that the donations immediately
help people in need.  If he doesn't, then you can join me in kicking his
arse when he gets back to Canberra in July ;)

 

I will also come and pass a hat around at Social and Intermediate League on
Wednesday night for those interested in donating then.
