the missing enter key

Hi all,

so, I have been discussing the now missing 'enter' key on new Mac laptops, and am wondering if we should build in an 'evaluate' key command into the menu. cmd-e would make sense (easy to reach with one hand, 'e' for evaluate), but that is currently in use with 'use selection for find'.

Does anyone have any thoughts about this? Or - can this even be done in the Main Menu nib? I have little experience in this area, but will try and poke around a bit.

Best,

Josh

Ctrl-C *still* works to evaluate current code, as was mentioned before...

In my personal build, I enabled ctrl-return and shift-return to
evaluate code. Working beautifully here.

no emacs interface for you? (Ctrl-c Ctrcl-c to execute ;) )

to be honest, this is one reason why I do not use the emacs
interface... :-)
Ctrl-C Ctrl-X is so near to Ctrl-X Ctrl-C

I still think that this issue needs to be resolved directly.

Too many of us have that 'enter' key programmed into our brains through muscle memory. Is there not a way to simply allow this keypress to still register as an 'execute' command in supercollider only?

I don't dig on change. =P

I practically never use that shortcut, since C-c C-c can also be used for code
blocks (I'm not sure whether or not that is related to some setting I set in
my .emacs).

I would actually like to change the C-c C-x shortcut to something else, but
have yet to start a poll about it whether enough people agree that it is a
bad shortcut. Almost as bad as the old clear post window shortcut on OSX.
