IntroductionHi Everyone,
I'm new to this email list but not new to techno. I think Skinner and I may have first met over a decade ago now. My interest in gabber has picked up in recent months and I am interested in producing it a little bit (I already own and operate a techno label). So I am hoping you all can direct me to some great gabber bass drum samples, and suggest a good (preferably free) vst synth for hoovers. To give you an idea of what I am interested in, I have been listening to Angerfist. I look forward to future conversations, Gil --------------------------------------------------------------------- http://gabber.org To unsubscribe, e-mail: gabber-unsubscribe@... Re: IntroductionHi Gil,
Angerfist is my favorite artist also. I try to lean towards his type of production when I am producing. Even though I have nothing to show yet, I can give you a few hints which worked for me. A lot of the samples I use I get from a hardstyle soundkit which exact name i cant remember. I am sure if you search for a hardstyle sample libraries you can find some and d/l them. I then take the sample and run it through Ohmicide : Melohman<http://www.ohmforce.com/ViewProduct.do?p=Ohmicide>to distort it more. This always worked for me for killer kick drums. Of course you need to EQ and compress afterwards. Hope it helps On Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 4:16 AM, joris <joris@...> wrote: > I saw Angerfist on a party once. Re: IntroductionMake your own, it's not that hard.
For example: 909 kick -> distort -> compress -> mix with original kick for nice subby oohpf -> EQ 2008/7/17 Gil <gabber@...>: > Hi Everyone, > I'm new to this email list but not new to techno. Re: IntroductionBuy a sub for your monitor setup so you can properly tune the kicks. If you
have Ableton, add a saturator and then play with the depth, width, frequency and velocity rates.
