swfdec/gnash/directfb problems

I am currently working on building a flash (.swf) GUI for the verdex+LCD and I am having some difficulties working with loading my flash files into gnash, compiling swfdec and or running in direct fb.  I know that Adobe has released the swf format so there may be more to come there.

Has anyone had much success running flash content, if so can you lead me in the right direction?
