Bruce -
While not specifically addressing your question, there is an interesting
article in GIM international looking at the use of WMS in earth browser
systems.
I would also check the OGC website for those WMS, WFS, and WCS
implementations that have passed OGC compliance testing. These compliance tests
indicate whether or not an implementation of one of these standards correctly
implements mandatory elements. Unfortunately, I believe at this time the WFS and
WCS tests are for WFS 1.0 and WCS 1.0 only.
Cheers
Carl

Subject: studies / comparisons of
software that serves OGC standards
(Apologies for cross
posting)
IMO:
Is anyone aware of any studies /
comparisons of software that serves data to the following OGC
standards?
- WMS v1.3
- WFS v1.1 (including support for complex
features)
- WCS v1.1+
I'm interested in
current / recent studies.
