When I create a new stock item Inventory->Stock List->New Stock Item or Edit Stock Item, I do not get the supplier tab?  I do not get the Inventory tab?  And under pricing tab all I get is Sales Category selection box?

In edit Location when I try to select This location is a work center: and save I get an error (Missing required information) and I am not able to tell what it is?  However the Delivery Address box has nothing in it and no selections?

Is that a question, or a statement?

See previous post:

Nothing much to do for pricing until you assign the item to some Sales
Categories.  Once you assign a sales category, there should be some
more there.

I just also tried to add a pricelist to a stock item. I can only assing a pricelist to a stock item of type assembly or stock kit. I can not assing a pricelist to a stock item of type raw. Also in your demo.

BTW: What is the difference between assembly and stock kit?

Manuel

I had not much luck with the demo ether, but if the system looks like it may do what you want, it is a simple matter to run these scripts on your local computer, for testing, that way you can go get the latest code from svn, our developer is working very hard, updates are daily. Also go the the documents and read the ones on Inventory, both Admin and User, many of your stock item questions will be answered.  The problems I have had with Stock Items, have all been fixed.  But I am still testing.

Were you assigning Sales Categories, or trying to create price lists
for a sales category?
Price lists are purposefully difficult to change while in effect,
unless you turn off "Force price list history" in Admin -> Sales ->
Site Config.

I'm not entirely happy with stock kits, so they may disappear when I
get a chance.  The difference is an assembly, once completed, stays
together as a distinct piece.  A stock kit, when added to a Sales
Order, will explode into its component parts.  It was designed to be
used for things like kits and packages, except I haven't figured out
how to do package pricing.

Sorry, wrong description. I didn' try to change a price list. What I exactly did is:

I created a sales category, sales type and sales area (by editing mysql because sales areas don't seem to get stored).
Then I created a pricelist using those types.
Afterwards I created a new stock entry of type raw and tried to assign that sales category to that item.

When I do exactly the same to a stock item of type assembly I get a new line under the price tab containing my pricelist and a field to assing the price. I don't get this line when doing this to a item of type raw.
