running hudon standalone in debug

what is the simpliest way to run hudson in debug mode ?  

I just downloaded the source, but I don't know where to start. (I'm not familiar with JSF.. only jsp and struts).

1. export MAVEN_OPTS="-Xdebug -
Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,address=8000,suspend=n"
2. cd main/war/
3. mvn hudson:run

It's described somewhere around here:
