I assume that you already compiled and linked the source code shown in
SLAA274.ZIP with one of the compiler/linker packages. Usually the
package comes with a debugger that can download the object code into
the target. But you need a JTAG tool hardware to do that.
Any one of the various JTAG tools for MSP430 from TI or third party
***should*** be able to download code into FG437. Your compiler/linker
package should tell you that.
The schematic shown in SLAA274.PDF seem to have omitted a connection
from Vcc to pin #4 of JP1 (for JTAG). Check with the JTAG tool you use
for how to match the voltage of the tool with that of your board.
You may be able to use the LCD glass from
http://www.sparkfun.comCheck their part SKU#: LCD-08568
***If*** this LCD can be used, you will need to change both the
hardware/firmware shown in SALL274.PDF/ZIP and the display will look
different.
