register EkigaBelow is a copy of my first post and be low it is my second post.
I have Ekiga on Ubuntu 8.04 installed on 64bit dual core system. I have gotten my sip number .but Ekiga reads ( standby and registered accounts 0 ). I registered on line and tried again in accounts but accounts show registration failed. There is another problem, that may be involved, in first time registration window. I am using default audio input and outputbut did not get any sound return when speaking into microphone. My son looked me up by my sip and found me there so that would seem to indicate ,I guess, that I am registered but was unable to call me. I have a realtech microphone that is plugged in. I tried sound recorder and it does not record from the mic. OOps went to volume control and found front mic turned off. Tturn it on and now can record sound. But still need help with Ekiga. 2nd post Checked in first time registration window and audio is now working, but I still need help with registration. If someone can help with this problem it will be appreciated. Thanks Doug _______________________________________________ ekiga-list mailing list ekiga-list@... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/ekiga-list |

Please execute "ekiga -d 4" and send us the result. Is your account on ekiga.net? Do you use version 2.0.x or the snapshot? If needed, would you mind if you install the snapshot, see http://snapshots.ekiga.net. -- Eugen Dedu _______________________________________________ ekiga-list mailing list ekiga-list@... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/ekiga-list |

Re: register EkigaOk, I went to svn snapshots and got the keys installed. In
repositories I put in deb http://snapshots.ekiga.net/snapshots/ubuntu/hardy main . (Hope I have this all spelled right here) In synaptic package manager i'm getting an error message as below most of which I don't understand. E: Malformed line 69 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse) E: The list of sources could not be read. Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem. E: _cache->open() failed, please report. I have checked my dialog input several times and can find no error?? How do I find line 69 I have counted every way I can think of but can't figure this out. Re: register EkigaAlso: cannot any longer open add/remove packages I get an error message
Failed to check for installed and available applications This is a major failure of your software management system. Please check for broken packages with synaptic, check the file permissions and correctness of the file '/etc/apt/sources.list' and reload the software information with: 'sudo apt-get update' and 'sudo apt-get install -f'. I gusee this is all a part of the problem with software sources?? Doug Douglas Pollard wrote: > Ok, I went to svn snapshots and got the keys installed. Re: register EkigaWent into the configuration assistant on the sumary page at the end it
says sip: none. I then went to preferences and put in my sip as it appears on line in ekiga adress book. Configration summary page still says sip. none. Any Ideas on this anyone. Re: register EkigaJust found out something that may be involved. I was reading about
router problems with Ekiga. I checked with my net provider and they say Linux is not compatable with comcast. Do you think this could somehow be a part of the problem??? Re: register EkigaThat's right, but just finished talking to a friend who says they are
right but if the account was set up with windows and switched to Linux it will work. I suspect if that is so a person who knows what he doing can set up an account in comcast using Linux. Apparently the on phone help doesn't know that. At least that's what this friend says.
