question installing XP 64 bitI have a XP 64 bit CD in my hands and Bochs 2.3.7 on Windows (binary
packages). Test host machine is currently only 32 bit. The setup starts and runs but hangs at "starting windows". Readme / documentation / config files doesn't say anything about activating 64 bit... Anything I missed? Re: question installing XP 64 bitBochs 2.3.7 have complete support of x86-64.
There are very small known issues but they cannot be gating for ANY x86-64 code. The problem both with WinXP64 and WinVista64 is BIOS ACPI requirements. The ACPI is still black magic for me so I have no idea what WinXP64 needs to boot but I have a prove that BIOS is the only issue here. Latest ACPI patch didn't help either :( Stanislav -----Original Message----- From: bochs-developers-bounces@... Unfortunatelly i was not able to find what parameter 0x1000B means. It is not described at http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B256841&x=17&y=14 (the link does only apply to Windows 2000). - Sebastian ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ bochs-developers mailing list bochs-developers@... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bochs-developers |
