pwgl-users: Saving abstractions with ins and outs?Hi,
I was working in a patch with abstractions and I saw that it is not possible to save an abstraction separately -out the main patch-, with all inputs and outputs, like in Max/MSP; what do you think about it? I think that it would be useful, above all beacuse often, abstractions give yet many problems if you want to open that in a different computer that in which the patch was created. Indeed, in the majority of the cases in which you try to do that, the abstractions disappear. Thanks for any answer, Javier Javier Torres Maldonado Web site: http://www.torresmaldonado.net/ |

Re: pwgl-users: Saving abstractions with ins and outs?Hi Javier,
I think that you can save an abstraction outside the main patch. If you select "save abstraction" from the context menu you get on an abstraction box. After you do that, you can find it in PWGL-User/Abstractions/ (starting from your Home folder). Best, Kilian PS: Maybe at some point the difference between patches and abstractions should be eliminated? Patches could have ins and outs and you could load patches into patches.... - What do you think? Re: pwgl-users: Saving abstractions with ins and outs?Dear Kilian,
I like very much the idea of eliminate the difference between patches and abstractions. Best, James ========================== James Correa composer http://www.buffalo.edu/~jcsoares jcsoares@... ========================== "I am not sure that I exist, actually. I am all the writers that I have read, all the people that I have met, all the women that I have loved; all the cities that I have visited, all my ancestors." Re: pwgl-users: Saving abstractions with ins and outs?To be able to save abstractions seperately und thus to build a
versatile library "on the fly" is one of the benefits of the current PWGL which I would miss if you decided to remove it. Please do not Jürgen Schmitt |
