problems with multiple connections?Hi! In our company, every client uses POP3 to
retrieve emails. But since recently, we wanted a couple of group-mailboxes,
like for example a mailbox for the IT department, and one for the marketing
departement. The idea was that the users in these departments, could add an
imap account to outlook for their group-mailbox. It seems now that there’s a problem when
multiple clients access the same mailbox at the same time, or when one client
adds multiple imap accounts on the same server. We are with 5 people, and each
of us added the same 2 imap-accounts. Outlook often complains about the server
being offline and stuff like that. Any ideas? I thought that maybe shared
folders would be a solution, but that wouldn’t work because we all use
POP3 for our main accounts, right? Thanks! Tom ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace. If anything it's a limitation in your client, not the server. And in any case, there's nothing wrong with multiple logins to the same IMAP account. Many poorly-written IMAP clients do it all the time: use multiple IMAP connections to the same account, at the same time, and there's no difference between multiple IMAP connections originating from the same client, or from different clients, as far as the server is concerned. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace.
