Hi,

Is the jhbuild bug fixed?

You shouldn't leave jhbuild broken. If it's still a problem then the
change should be reverted until a solution is found.

No, I found the cause but don't know how to fix it (as is
described in the comments).

The change in question is the addition of the test suite.
The simpliest fix (and a good idea anyway) is to make it run
on `make check' instead of always (also suggested in the
comment).
