how to limit maillog size

How can I limit maillog size so it can generate new
one when it reaches the limited?

In logrotate.d, you can specify the file size to rotate at with
something like: size +4096k

Of course, the configuration is only read when logrotate runs.  One some
systems that may be daily, so if you want it to rotate faster you'd need
to move the logrotate cron from /etc/cron.daily to /etc/cron.hourly.

At least on RHEL 4, the maillog rotation is coordinated with syslog.
Look in /etc/logrotate.d/syslog.

SuSE systems use the name mail rather than maillog, but it is still
pat of the syslog rotation.
