It is great that they put an update on their site and have an official "October" release date stated.  Nothing that we did not know already.

What I am weary about is the term "limited." Yes, we know that the launch will be only to hobby/comic shops, but are they going to be limiting the production into these shops as well?  For example, let's say that they were originally going to print 50,000 sets for the initial release, and up it to 100,000 for the mass retail launch.  However, are they now saying that the will be further "limiting" the number of sets/cards going out in the initial launch?  I am glad that I pre-ordered.

LED, I'm not sure about what the "limited edition" thing means either but I don't think it means that the cards will be limited at release. My opinion on this is that they mean that the first set, like in any card game, will last only a set number of days until the next few sets are released and then become obsolete. I'm not sure if I'm right but it's what came to mind.

no chaotic code is just for those cards that they showed on 4kidstv a few months ago. that is just a virtual deck to get games and other stuff. but you are lucky i can't even see my chaoticcode.com virtual deck.

I'm thinking along those same lines that maybe the hobby release will have a different assortment of cards avalible for a limited time until they "regular" edition cards come out in hobby and retail stores later on. If some of the cards are going to be exclusive to the starters, they very well could be limited edition cards, since you would only be able to get them out of the first release. But that is just my theory, so who knows for sure.

I think all it's referring to is the "1st Edition" cards, compared to regular prints. Nothing special or anything.

1st edition and stuff like that has always been a bother, that's why I prefer games like Magic. The labels of "editions" are meaningless and seemingly add a few dollars to the value of the card, all cards of the same name should be worth the same (except creatures cause of stats I guess).
And WEB4KIDZ, I think you're idea is plausible, but it'd be too bad for the rest of the world who wouldn't be able to get the promos or bonuses or exlusives that would be included in the starters in the States (as the website seemingly states).
