fetching older articles

I've noticed that google feed reader can gather articles that are extremely old. (or just more articles than the 15 or so that are currently displayed). I was wondering if it was possible to do this with ROME? I imagine it has something to do with some sort of header HTTP request with the RSS server, but I'm not exactly sure.

I have not been able to find any information on this online.
