the new layout of the debbugs web interface is a great improvement,
however an important information disappeared in the process: the URL a
bug is forwarded to.

It would be good to have it back in bugreport.cgi’s header, and in
pkgreport.cgi the ↝ sign could simply be a link to it.

This is incredibly clumsy though.

That means that for every bug you reassign to a library, ideally you
would:
* file another bug
* explain the problem fully in the other bug (potentially you
just clone the first bug to the other package but you would
need to add more explanation in either case)
* set the second bug to be blocked by the first bug you've
reassigned.
* manually track when the first bug goes away and close the
second bug.

You also don't get the severity of the bug on the dependent package.

would make the lives of Debian developers and other users of the BTS
easier.

The former.

In general, bugs are fixed on bugs.debian.org and then reassigned to
debbugs and tagged pending, in anticipation of a new upload (that's the
theory, anyway :-)

Question regarding Debbugs::Status

Hi,

I've got a question regarding Debbugs::Status, line 865:

get_bug_status either gets the hash returned by readbug, or calls
readbug itself. This is referenced by local variable %status.
Later on, get_bug_status calls bug_presence. bug_presence accepts such a
status as optional parameter, which can be passed to avoid re-reading the bug's
summary. But this status is not passed on to bug_presence by get_bug_status. Is
there a reason for this, or is this an error?
