i cannot find much about zwave from the MH site.  I am curious if i can use zwave on a mac osx setup.  if so, how would i go about the setup and which communication hardware has been tested (usb stick - which manufacturer, leviton rzc0p serial interface).

any information would be greatly appreciated.  thanks.

Hi,

I'm also looking for informations about z-wave.
I think it would be great if MH will support Z-Wave products in the USA but also in Europe...

Actually its hard to find a z-wave interface which is supported by linux.

The Linux MCE Guys supports some US interfaces and one European Interface:

Wiki

If i understand it correct they use the same functions like the plutomhome Project.

I'couldnt find the Z-.Wave module in their SVN - maybe someone other has informations about the modules they use.

Unfortunately Zensys doesn't give informations to privat developers - bad situation i think...

btw: Where are the Z-Wave libs in the Misterhouse SVN?

I can't find it....

Regards,

Thorsten.

LinuxMCE is the free arm of PlutoHome.

We are currently working on implementing a new Z-Wave Interface. It
is currently being tested outside of LinuxMCE, and will be
incorporated into the SVN as soon as those external tests succeed.
This interface will be GPL.

There is a second Z-Wave implementation (with backing from Zensys
iirc), that will be incorporated into LinuxMCE, but it will not be
GPLed, due to some NDAs.

Hello Peer,

is there a possible way to use your Z-Wave modul in misterhouse?
eg. as binary over std in / out or over an TCP/IP Port?
Will your implementation supports European Z-Wave interfaces?

Sorry for my questions, but im hardly looking for a possibility to use Z-Wave with MH...

Regards,

Thorsten

It is not my interface, but created by someone else for LinuxMCE. It
is a regular C++ programm, source code available, so you should be
able to use it and build some stand alone tool.

It is currently being tested with the Seluxit USB dongle, and will be
tested, afaik, with the Merten controller as well.

If you want some more info, get onto the LinuxMCE forum (into the Dev
subsection) and post your questions, or come into the chat room
irc.freenode.net #linuxmce.

The current support for Z-Wave exists with the Leviton RS232
interface which as a simple ASCII interface. The Z-Wave protocol
isn't built into MH. I have my doubts that you'll be able to use
the current Z-Wave setup with the LinuxMCE as it uses the actual
Z-Wave protocol to communicate with the Z-Wave interfaces. While
I'm glad to see that the Open Source Community has cracked the
Z-Wave problem I have my doubts about using it with MH as things
currently stand.

BTW, thanks for all the information. I have the HA22 interface
(in addition to the Leviton Interface) and I may now be able
to use if it if I get the free time to work on it (not likely).

But my problem is that i'm not a C++ Programmer... I am actually a rookie in Perl-Programming an i now a little bit about VB...

Maybe i can find someone who can translate the code to perl...

Thorsten

There is a new Z-Wave implementation in the LMCE SVN available,

unfortunately it's written in C++ i think it will be hard to adapt to perl an MH...

Linux-MCE forum Post

The posive thing is that this code is available under GPL

Maybe this informations will help to integrate Z-Wave natively in Misterhouse...
Unfortunately im not really good in C programming, but i will give it a try to design a module for MH.
