console-vx serial TTLHello all
Do I need to remove any resistors on the console-vx board to use the TTL voltage level UART serial ports.
I saw this on the Wiki page and I am not sure if this is necessary. I am getting some bad signals off the RX pin on the STUART.

Otherwise you will have the on-board voltage converter and whatever is driving the Rx signal external trying to fight with each other. > I saw this on the Wiki page and I am not sure if this is necessary. Exactly because the resistor is still present. -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges. Re: console-vx serial TTL for Dave HylandsDave
I removed the ST RxD resistor and now I don't get keyboard inputs using the RS232 FFUART. Is the ST RxD also for FF RxD. By console-vx is a little different than the one on the Gumstix Wiki. Any suggestions? Corry -----Original Message----- From: gumstix-users-bounces@... Any suggestions? What revision is your console-vx board? The FFUART and STUART will have separate resistors for RxD. I took a look at some of the more recent schematics (R1833 for the LCD16 board), and it seems that they've mislabelled the resistors. It looksl like 1753 and 1851 are similarly mislabelled). 1404 and 1638 seem to both be correct. The resistor labelled STTXD is actually for the STRXD line. The resistor labelled STRXD is actuall for the FFRXD line The resistor labelled BTRXD is correct. The resistor labelled BTTXD is actually for BTCTS. I don't know how they messed that up so badly (especially since it used to be right). -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges. Re: console-vx serial TTL for Dave HylandsDave
Thanks. I look at the schematics and figured that out. It was fun trying to put the resistor back. Corry -----Original Message----- From: gumstix-users-bounces@...
