combine files error

Hi - I downloaded the trial version of DigDB yesterday to see if it was a workable solution to my problem. First time it worked okay, but trying to repeat steps this morning and it's not happening.

Here's what I am trying to do:
I need to combine 144 separate excel files into one.
Each of the separate files contains six worksheets, so
I want my finished, combined file to contain 864 (=144*6) worksheets.

Here's what I am doing to try to achieve this:
In Excel, -> DigDB -> File -> Combine files.
Click "Add Files".
Navigate to my folder containing my 144 files.
Select all 144, and click "Open".
At this point, the file names all appear in the DigDB dialog, and it says: "Excel files to combine:144".
I checked "Skip empty sheets" (there are none) and "Keep file name in copied sheet names" (I need it to do this so I can still tell the 144 sheets apart - I also have formulas which will call on values form the different sheets).
Then click OK. It works for a second.. then I get:
ONE new excel file containing FOUR worksheets. The first three are empty and are called "Sheet1", "Sheet2" and "Sheet3". The fourth is called "Header" and it contains header information from the 144th (last) of the selected files.

What's going on? Please help.
Thanks -
Karen.

After trawling through the forum I found that others were having the same problem. It was suggested here
http://www.nabble.com/Trouble-with-combine-tf4002092s73.html
that the length of the filename was the problem - I checked this out and it worked. Again, a fix in the next version would be good...
Thanks -
Karen.
