I have Epson r270 and use Gutenprint plugin for GIMP for printing my home
photos. But some time ago, my magenta channel broke down. To solve this
problem, I think I need to exchange light magenta by magenta channel, what
can I do to solve this problem? What are the other ways of solving it apart
from cleaning magenta channel physically? Can I print only CcMYK, where
magenta is situated physically on the place of light magenta.
PS: I ported Gutenprint plugin for GIMP for Windows platform and get good
results, thanks for nice work.
If your *dark* magenta head is dead, there's not much you can do --
the light magenta ink simply won't be dark enough. If the *light*
magenta is dead, you will be able to edit the appropriate XML file in
the next release (5.2.0-beta4) to remove that light magenta channel,
and just print with dark magenta.
