auto add address book and about x-face

Dear all,

I have two question as subject.

1. Is it possible to automatically add recipient to addressbook when
sending a compose message ? How to do it ?

2. I try to convert 48x48 gif into xface string using gif2xface.pl, but
it doesn't work correctly. It shows :
$ ./gif2xface.pl < test.gif > test.xface
sh: giftopnm: not found
sh: pbmtoxbm: not found
Do I have to install some other tools ? need help...

fyi, I'm using ubuntu 8.04

Right click on the To: field and choice Add to addressbook

Yes, you should also install netpbm

In addition to this, you can also create a processing rule to the Sent
folder:
if recipient not found in address book (define what recipient, and if
the whole AB or a specific folder has to be checked), then add the
recipient to the AB

The bad point here is that this rule will be fired only when you enter
the Sent folder.

It's manual. Is there a setting to make it automatic. So when you click
Send, it automatically add to address book.

  Nope, but should be easy to implement as a simple plugin...
