attribute release

Hi,

I am trying to understand how attribute release works using cas3.2.1.
In cas digest, vol. 59, issue 42, messages 2 and 3, its described that
the jasig cas client is used by the customer to reconstruct the
principal object, and from it obtain the attributes from that principal
object.  Is that the recommended approach? So, if I make sure the
principal has the telephoneNumber in it, then the customer would use the
ja-sig cas client to obtain the telephone number from the ticket?

Robert,

Any client can be used to construct a principal based on the results returned from a ticket validation.  The JASIG CAS Client for Java example was used because I believe the person was using Java.  The main point is that the server needs to be aware that it needs to transmit additional attributes while the client needs to be aware that it needs to pull additional attributes from the XML.

The SAML 1.1 response already does this.
