That sounds strange...
I have no explanation yet, but a few questions that may help.
- What kernel version are you using?
- Is it a home-built kernel or a distro-provided one?
- Can you send a copy of your kernel's configuration?
- Do you have other audio devices? What kind of driver (OSS or ALSA)
are they using?
