add link to file in html page

I have been away from farcry for way too long, and have come back in at version 4 and it is all different.

So I have found how to get an image onto the page from the media library - very nice
But I would now like to know how I can put in a link on the page to a document in the library.

I am not after the related documents that can have a template that displays all the documents (with teaser) at the bottom of the page,
but links within the page itself.

Thank you.

Andrew,

It works the same way as images.

  • Add your file as a related media item to your html page.
  • Click on the Farcry "trumpet" logo in the body content editor
  • Select File from the tab in the pop-up
  • Select the related file from the drop down list
  • Click on "preview"
  • Click on "insert"
This uses the insertHTML_ webskin functionality.  You can find the file download insertHTML_ in core/webskin/dmFile/  You can, of course, override this on a plugin or a project basis, by creating your own insertHTML_ files in the webskin/dmFile folder in your plugin or project.

Regards

Stephen

Thanks Stephen, that is exactly what I was after.

What was confusing me, is that the files in Relationships - Associated Media, can be dragged, but they cannot be dropped.

Is drag and drop going to be implemented at some point?
