I would like to hear some opinions, are DVD-Rom readers any better
readers than usual DVD burners? For reading/ripping I mean. Does it
make sense to add to PC also DVD-Rom, when one already has DVD burner
in it? I hope the question is clear enough.

My experience has been the opposite. The writers I've used to tend to
support more features (such as overread) and generally are more reliable.

As long as you have a good DVD burner such as NEC or Plextor (to name
a couple) you'll be fine. No need to waste a drive bay with a DVD-ROM
drive. Won't make any difference.
