Hi

There has been a lot of talk about winter moorings lately and we were
wondering.

1. Is it essential to moor up somewhere for the winter?
2. Is it essential to book?
3. How do you decide where you'll want to winter up?

The answer to the first question is- No. The other questions are
irrelevant...
I have found some of the best cruising is in the winter, even in
Holland. In these days of global warming the problem of ice isn't what
it used to be and if you are willing to be flexible around canal
closures you cruise very comfortably. It is also a lot cheaper to cruise
in Winter.

Good cruising!
