Windows Driver IssueHi,
I have a APC Back-UPS RS 800 and I installed the Apcupsd service and icon tray. My configuration
OS: Windows XP with service pack 2
I started testing Apcupsd and when I got to the Communications Test everyhting seemed fine. Apcupsd detected a comms loss but when I plug the USB cable back in, Apcupsd does not restore the communications. I think this because the Windows is picking up the UPS as another device. I checked this in the device manager and I see a Batteries -> HID UPS Battery entry and a Human Interface Device -> American Power Conversion USB UPS. So I followed the driver install.txt instruction and re-installed the driver but it stays the same. I am not getting the LibUSB-Win32 Devices entry. If I restart my PC then the LibUSB-Win32 Devices entry in the Device Manger Tree appears.
Any Help would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks

This can cause the UPS serial number to read differently every time which makes Windows think it's a different device. Annoyingly Windows insists on using it's built-in HID driver instead of the apcupsd driver by default every time you plug a new device in. Another possibility is if you plug the UPS into a different USB port. That, too, can make Windows think it's a new device. --Adam ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Apcupsd-users mailing list Apcupsd-users@... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/apcupsd-users |
