Wilwood caliper.Daft question Les :
Have you made sure that the brake fitting isn't too long where you've screwed it into the new Willwoods? Screw them in far enough and the pipe fitting outlet becomes obscured by the internals of the caliper. If this was the case, you'd have found bleeding bleeding difficult. RE: Wilwood caliper.Mike
Thanks - I have in fact suffered from that symptom in the past - all these bloomin different fittings, bsp, npt metric 10x1 etc....some with a concave taper, some convex etc. However, I actually checked for that, all ok, and when I get my wife to slowly press the brake pedal for bleeding purposes, there is quite an impressive fountain from the bleed nipple. My .625 master cylinder turned up today, so I'll fit that in the next day or two and report back. Thanks again for pointers! Cheers Les -----Original Message----- From: bike-engined-cars@... 04-06 R1 questionThe manual for the 2004-2006 R1 suggests that if the ECU can't send and
receive signals from the instrument cluster then the engine won't start. This could be a bit of an issue as I don't have an instrument cluster for my engine (06 R1) and wasn't planning to fit one. Has anyone managed to get an 04-06 R1 engine working without the cluster, and with the standard ECU? Cheers Dan [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

RE: 04-06 R1 questionExcellent, cheers! I'm basing my loom on the bike loom but I suspect by the
time I've finished there won't be much of it left. I've been spending many happy hours waiting at airports for the GF while reading the R1 Haynes manual in mind-numbing detail to see what parts of the loom I can leave off and what parts I need. Top fun... ;) _____ From: bike-engined-cars@... [mailto:bike-engined-cars@...] On Behalf Of banwellgarage@... Sent: 28 September 2008 17:26 To: bike-engined-cars@...
