Who's On Times-Out

We are running version 4.0.10 with Coldfusion 8 and when viewing the
who's on link on the reporting tab, we very frequently get Coldfusion
timeouts (depending on the number of visitors).  I was just wondering
if anyone has experienced this problem and what the best way to remedy
it is.
