Looking to install instances of Fedora 9 x64 and Centos 5 x64 from DVD
images.  I'd like to do it from within a running XP, Fedora or ubuntu.

Unless someone has a better idea, I will try booting the image within a
virtual machine.

You can install these in a virtual machine. AFAIK, VMs will support
64-bits, but I think you are better off if your host os is 64-bits.
