I¹ve been generating a Stand-Alone which included an Export Text where the
path is defined in usual form c:\\ . .  .
It works fine in XP, but when I tested it on Vista it fails (says can¹t
create file).  I understand something has changed in path handling in Vista.
What is my solution? (The machine I tested it on is set up to run both as
Mac & Windows.)  I¹m using 2004.6 @ this point.

Hi Del,
Vista is stricter than XP when it comes to what folders can be accessed.
I suspect the file cannot be created due to permissions.  You may want to
view the permissions for the folder you are trying to access.

Kind Regards,

Haven't resolved this yet. I was attempting to place the created file in C
drive @ top level. I can't see that permission for that is a problem.  I
quote from an article :Gone from Windows is the traditional file path of
folders and files separated by slashes." so I thot that might be a clue, but
if noone else had a problem, maybe it will prove to be a permission issue
yet.

The Answer was: RUN: gpEdit.msc
Work way down thru Config/Win Set/Sec Set/Loc Policies/Sec Opt,
And disable "Run All Admin in Admin Approval Mode"
