Unwanted automatic links in Doxygen

Hi,

I use Doxygen for code in C and other languages, and I like the way it
automatically creates links to functions, structures, etc.  However, it
sometimes goes too far.

If there is a typedef or class called something like "system" or "view",
and you write a sentence of documentation using either of those words
(which is easy to do), then those words will be turned into links to
that class. Even if they have longer hierarchical names like
platform.os.system.

I'd like links to be automatically generated where they have brackets,
for example System() or dots, for example View.size or where they are
mentioned in a formal syntax such as a parameter in a function
prototype, but not where these words appear on their own in text. For
simple words, I'd like to use \ref if I want it to be linked.

Has anyone encountered that problem, and found a solution for it?
Does it bother anyone else?
Should it be a configuration option in the Doxyfile?

Regards,
Roger

Hello Roger.

The only solution I see is to put a percent character "%" before the
"hot" words in the text. That prevents auto-linking for that word.
