Re: Unit 12 Discussion: Summative Reflections
I would like to say that at the begining of this course I did not see the need for it. But as I got involved I can see the wonderful benefits it has given to me. I see myself and others in a different light. I cannot see the end of my seminary journey from here, but because of this course I can see the direction to go in. I have a greater understanding of what to expect from this journey.
I would also like to express my thanks to all the instructors for their involvement. A special thanks to all of my classmates for your insight and discussions. I look forward to learning with you and from you in future classes. God bless each one of you as you journey along.

Re: Unit 12 Discussion: Summative Reflections
I just wanted to say..."Thank You". This course has really helped me understand myself better, as well as to understand the impact "my story" has had (and continues to have) on my life and Ministry. Dr. Turpin, it has been a real pleasure having you as an instructor! The Web-site (which I know took a lot of time to put together) was so easy to navigate. Be Blessed!

Re: Unit 12 Discussion: Summative Reflections
I have thoroughly enjoyed this class and the knowledge that I have gained through it. Everyone in the class has offered great advice and comments to the posts. It’s been a fun journey and I hope to continue to grow through the rest of my seminary experience.

Re: Unit 12 Discussion: Summative Reflections
I would like to add to that...I really appreciate the time that Dr. Turpin and all the others put into forming this class. This is by far the easiest webset that we use. Thanks for making our lives a little easier.

Re: Unit 12 Discussion: Summative Reflections
This course promised to be to be a real challenge for me, mostly due to my limited computer skills. But I can truly say that even though it has been difficult in ways, and has required a great deal of my time, it has also been enlightening, educational, and inspirational for me in many ways. I have not only gained computer skills in navigating through all the units, I have gained skills which will be valuable to me in navigating through the rest of my life.
To Dr. Turpin, and my advisor, Dr. Slocumb, as well as to all the professors involved in this course, I say, “Thank you!” for your ministry to us in this class. And to my classmates, I want to say that I feel blessed to have been a part of this class along with you. Taking this course has been a wonderfully positive experience for me.
Blessings,
Lucille Barfield

Re: Unit 12 Discussion: Summative Reflections
Dear Class,
It was a pleasure meeting the instructors and classmates during the retreat. I was impressed, once again, by the wisdom, brotherly love and engaging personalities of the Church of God family. I wish I could have done a better job staying in touch with some of you and I hope to take another course with you.
The class itself was interesting and useful. I’m very interested to see how my final portfolio affects my seminary journey. I do plan on revising and reflecting on it as I work through my MDiv.
Well, God bless you all and I hope to see you later,
Brian Shepard

Re: Unit 12 Discussion: Summative Reflections
For me, this class has widened the focus of my objectives for attending seminary. It's more comprehensive than acquiring knowledge or skills. The class brought clarity to the work we need God to do in our own lives; and, affirmed the calling He has on our life to impact others. I'm glad it was "required".
The instructors were very good, the Web tool was wonderful, my classmates were encouraging, and the curriculum will be referred to again and again.
Overall, a very worthwhile experience.

Re: Unit 12 Discussion: Summative Reflections
I must admit I was beginning to wonder how many different times and different ways I could tell “My Story.” However, after having done it I will admit that I can now say I am glad I did. My Story has become my testimony as well. I have seen the traces of the steps in my life that God has orchestrated for me. It has given me more purpose for the ministry I have been involved with and where I really want to go. I appreciate the assessments because it really showed me that God has truly been in control of my ministry because of the doors He has opened. I appreciate the instructors for their gentle and kind, but firm, way they have endeavored to lead us into a much more meaningful relationship with the Lord. It has truly been a good experience.

Pastor Don,
I agree with you. I was wondering why I had to do this but now I understand. We need to look at ourselves before we can truly understand and help others.

I had to smile when I read your first statement about "how many different times and different ways I could tell My Story." At first, I started to wonder the same, about both telling my story and stating my goals. However, like you, I am really glad I did now. I gained a lot of clarity through the process, and that shows from reading the first submissions until the final portfolio (at least I hope it does!)
God bless, Sunny (Sabrina Evans)

I also want to echo that. Putting in extra time to make the website easier to navigate was really a way to serve us! Thanks
