Unable to rename JPEG's on Linux

Hello,
I am trying to renames JPEG files from within LightZone but I get the error "Couldn't rename xxxx.jpg to yyyy.jpg". I can rename .cr2 raw files with no problem. Has anyone else run across this and a solution? An excerpt from the LightZone log file follows:

Hi,
I get the same problem. Just can't rename .jpg files (actually I had never
tried that before) I get more o less the same error log. Sorry I just can't
help understanding or solving the problem. :-(
