Unable to Verify DVD

Greetings:

I recently ran a backup to DVD using K3b with the "verify" option
checked.  When I returned to my desktop to check up on the process, I
found the DVD drive tray ejected and K3b waiting to verify the media -
the process was, as expected, 50% completed (K3b reported that the write
was successful).  I manually pushed the tray back in but K3b still
didn't start the verify process so I just canceled the process.  The
last time I ran a successful backup & verify process was when I was
running K3b version of 1.0.2 (which is an original package in Slackware
12.0).

I am running Slackware 12.0 with many updates primarily taken from
Slacky.it.  My KDE version is 3.5.7 and the K3b version is 1.0.4 (which
I got from Slacky.it).

Before I start running test backups w/the verify option (for both DVDs
and CDs), I'd like to hear your suggestions as to what might be causing
this problem or any other suggestions you may have.

This is probably Bug 156684 - k3b-1.0.4 hangs between writing and verifying a CD-R (http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156684). I believe the workaround is to check the "Do not eject medium after write process" Advanced options setting, at least, that worked for a small test burn to a CDRW.

Thanks for the reference and I do intend to try that suggestion.  More
importantly, you've nonetheless shown me a way to first check for a
related bug in the "KDE Bug Tracking System" BEFORE I decide to *yell,
