All of these resources were so helpful.  I did not know that there were web sites that could help you write a good research paper.  I am very leery when it comes to web sites because my problem with the internet is, anyone who wants to can just post anything "up there" and anyone else can find it and use it (ethically).  The power point presentation referred to using caution with your sources.  Google is bad!!!
We also read about the three types of sources which must be considered: primary, secondary and tertiary.  Obviously we need to seek out the best sources possible and they need to be trust worthy!  Just like we talked about last week, we have an incredible library just across the street that has proven valuable every time I have used it!
As ministry minded people we (I know I can speak for myself) love to sermonize everything which is not bad except for when we are writing a research paper!!!!  Research papers are just that, research papers!!! Research papers can help us in our sermons but are more than that!
Finally, I want to talk about the thesis (referred to by Dr. Northcutt) we need to have a thesis!  The thesis is the heart beat...everything comes from and flows toward our thesis.  The next consideration is to outline---it keeps you on topic and focus/vision!  Outline!  The last thing is time---we need to take our time and do the best for God that we can.  We need to take our time to conceptualize research, write and edit with time to spare.
This class and its resources are invaluable for these of us who are not great at writing papers! I wish that Lee would have had a resource like this so I could have learned to write a paper before I had to turn one on for a grade!  That is the worst way to learn about writing a paper!

I agree Erich, If only we knew these pointers when we were at Lee. I probably would have done better papers.
