Universal Description and Discovery and Interoperability (UDDI) provides a means for services to discover other services for binding. Without an ESB infrastructure, each service attached to a bus would have to develop and integrate that capability independently, which creates significant configuration overhead. The
UDDI Binding Component alleviates administrations problems by centralizing the point through which services attached to the ESB connect to UDDI, allowing any service attached to the ESB to retrieve information from a UDDI server without tightly binding to any specific library.
