Hi Tim,

You've been informative, thanks.

I asked sometime ago about tracking accounts by group.  You were working on this.  If you have any documentation on how you are working on this -- I think I'll be able to help in coding.  Though I could only spare a few hours a week.  That is if you need any help.

-->sorry, I didn't get the right set up to receive your reply through email --- had to go over sourceforge site and see the mailing list.( which i do rarely) -- but I'll check there from now on (or set up a correct subscription...)

Thanks,

Benjie

This was coded up quite a while back (GL accounts grouping and sub-grouping) with trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet reports all modified to use the new strucuture. Documentation is a little shy... if you look at the archives there is a fair bit about it.

Phil,

His initial request was for a method of recording project expenses. I
suggested as a way of doing this using the jobref field in gltrans. It
coincided with some work that I am doing here, that I will submit in a
little while when I have it in a more generalised way.
