question about successes, ideas for those working on design and arts initiatives/building design on college/university campuses

Hello,

I am appealing to members of this community for some assistance.

I am serving at my campus on a pre-design committee for a new building and
would greatly appreciate any leads (examples, links, documents)at all on any
of the following:

1. For those of you on campuses where the design and arts initiatives are
alive and flourishing, (and I realize every institution is different), as the
initiative has developed-adding classes, facilities, etc. how has the
enrollment changed and/or what other ways is your campus seeing a return on
their investment?

2. While the plan for our new building is to focus on STEM needs, given the
likely enrollment patterns and a host of other issues I am trying to get the
committee to think flexibly about rooms, labs, studios, and large
multi-purpose rooms, including a "multi-purpose" auditorium (particularly
ones that can be split into classrooms, handle speakers and performances and
multi-media).

3. If anyone knows of really smart work on green design in relation to any of
these questions that would also be helpful.

I know everyone is really busy, so if you have to pick which one to answer,
please can anyone point me to successful multi-purpose classrooms (for
science and art) and more pressingly "multi-purpose" auditorium models?

Please email me off-list at KKochhar@....

Thanks much,
