The symbol in chewing is rotated 90 degree

Hello all,
I've noticed that the symbol of chewing in 新
"ㄒ一 ㄣ" is become "ㄒ| ㄣ" , as shown above

The middle symbol is rotated 90 degree.
Is there any material I should read to improve this?
