Yes, as if we didn't all talk about her enough, here's yet another place to gab endlessly about Sarah Jane!
At the moment I'm just testing this baby, working out what it does, so what I really need is for lots of people to register and start posting messages so that I can work out the kinks!
To that end, the first ten people to register and hit twenty-five messages (and I mean real messages, posting the same thing repeatedly does not count...) will upon request receive a special hand-made Sarah Jane-related item. There will also be badges to put on your blog and that sort of thing, for early joiners and frequent posters. Don't say I never do anything for you!
To start using the forum, click on one of the Child Forums below and then click on 'Post New Message', or click on one of the existing threads below those, to see what's already been said and post replies.
Have fun!

MY GOD PHIL!!!! I too love accents, particularly the english ones. I love to try and talk in them but I don't use them often in public except when speaking to my kids. They hate me watching Torchwood because I keep practising my Welsh accent and it drives them nuts. My son is a big mimmicker and we do alot of accents from Little Britain. The whole family will go out and suddenly we all start talking like Lou. I've had to tell everyone not to do it because people will think we are mad, which we are but we try not to advertise it. My welsh is bad because until Torchwood I'd never really heard it spoken constantly so that you could actually pick it up. Even now I can't do it properly. They have odd intonation. When my kids were small I'd read them Thomas the Tanks Engine Books in Ringo Starr's Liverpool accent. I also got better at the northern type accents by mimmicking Katherine Tate's characters. I have an interest in cultures, races, languages and dialects and accents from all over. LIke Henry Higgins of Pygmalion ha ha ha. I'm good at languages but don't have time to practice them. I like to know or guess where someone is from from their accent, either english or otherwise and I like to guess the languages used on sbs shows, before we get a clue as to the country they are in. I have to say though, that my interest far outshines my ability. I am interesting in genetics and I like to guess where people are from by what they look like. I am not against interacial mixes but I do like to think that some races can retain their physical attributes. I find it very interesting to guess where people are from. When I go to Sydney and I hear people talking in another language, I go closer to try and hear what it is and I look at them and try and work out where they are from. I like to know names as well. Whenever someone has a name I can't place I just have to ask them what origin it is. I have a huge interest in foreigners. I will gravitate towards any foreigner if I'm at a social gathering or something because I find them to be far more interesting than Aussies. I always want to find out where people are from and hear all about their customs etc. I should have been an anthropologist. I always want to know how people live[d] and spoke etc. If I was rich I would travel the world studying people and languages and customs. I am particularly saddened by the fact that the English culture is non existent and I'd like to do a bit of study to find out what English people ever did that was distinct from everyone else. The Scots , Irish and Welsh have their Celtic cultures but the English [who are no longer celtic due to various invasions] have no clear culture. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'd love to know just what the english do in their cultural festivals apart from skipping around maypoles. Apart from the royal stuff, there's nothing. I think they need to have a big revival before they all forget just what it is they are all about.

I have been studying the accents of the people in SJA. I notice that Lis has dropped a bit of her poshness and some of her long "a" sounds have broardened to sound a bit like ours rather than that clipped sharp "a" of the toffy british accent. Don't know if it's on purpose to fit in with the kids or she might have changed over time. LUke's accent is very australian sounding. Same diphthongs as ours with just that chopped off english intonation. Hard to explain. I always notice the diphthongs, looking out for the good old Aussie double diphthong. I like to theorise how our accent was made compared to the american accent[s] depending on which migrants came to each place. Low class cockney types for us and cornwallish types for america.....hence the strong "r"s. Irish as well. Yeah it's interesting.

Well I have raved on too much, Phil. I get a bit too passionate about my little interests. Very rare to find someone with similar ones.

Tally Ho old chap.

G'day Stardoe,

Thank you for those reminders of some very funny shows and incidents.

Ah yes, Herr Flick of the Gestapo and his sexy bird Helga.
Firm favourites.
What was it now, a bill in the till, a gateau in the chateau .........
I'm not too fussed with a quiet little drink but a friend in the UK has recommended Magners Irish cider which interests me.

Midsomer Murders, gosh, an entire village occupied by murderers it seems.
A place to avoid it seems.
I used to watch the Bill before it became a soap opera, but I packed it in 7 years ago .
Doc Martin was a good show I agree, one of my interests is different accents and mimickry.
I must be one of the few Australians to have had a vowel transplant as I've mastered proper
'Received Pronounciation' English, heh heh.
The Cornish accent in Doc Martin was fun to copy too.
I like to use different accents during my daily life in the shops, bank etc.
Have a bit of fun.
One day I can be Sir Percy Fortescue-Poole and another, some bloke from Gloucester here for a conference on quarrying. heh heh.....
At least I can have a laugh!.

Speaking of accents, have you noticed that here in Australia more people are using again the English rounded vowels .
I'm noticing it more as I have an ear pricked up for how people speak.
eg Transplant for a while had an emphasis on the U.S style 'ant', now its being spoken again here sounding more like 'aunt' if that makes sense.

Try this with people Stardoe,

"Ask the master in the castle to pass the banana "

See how many rounded vowels with 'AH' people say.
It seems our language is evolving back toward the British again.
Perhaps with hundreds of thousands of us living in the UK now and the renewed fondness
for them revealed in polling, we're reverting back to our roots.
There seems to be a shift in the population's perceptions and this is manifesting itself in our speech patterns as one example.

Finally, have a laugh at this
http://blogs.windriver.com/parkinson/2006/10/mapping_out_the.html

Someone in the RAF or working in British Aerospace is a Dr Who viewer!.

pip pip

Phil

I've seen the first 3 eps of S2 now and the hair is much better when it's mucked up. It is actually very slightly layered and you can see it when she's been running around the place and it is fluffed up and fuller looking. It is actually very much like the old do she sported from Terror of the Zygons onwards. It's a bit freaky because the old thing looks quite young and I got lots of flashbacks to the old Sarah. The only time I don't like the hair is when she's just had it combed for indoor shots and it's lank and straight and quite severe looking. So it's a good thing she spends most of her time running about the place getting it mucked up.

Has anyone seen the eps yet?

'owyagoin Phil? I love the shows you mentioned and had forgotten about Mind your Language. I love Allo Allo. I particularly love that Christmas special they did about the drug in the jug and gateau in the chateau etc. And Herr Flick got stuck with the blow dart and had that convulsion. I scream in mirth at that every time and wonder how on earth they did that without cracking up themselves. I was also a huge fan of Blakes7 but I went off it later on when there was a character change. Maybe after Blake copped it. I can't remember as I haven't seen it since I was a kid. No repeats in my neck of the woods. So you like a beer do you Phil? Cascade or James Boag? I actually like Tiger best. I had it in Singapore last year and now we have a new grog shop opened up here that has every type of beer that was ever invented [and other stuff too] and so we got some Tiger to take camping with us last weekend. It's very light. Kind of like cascade light or hahn light but is full strenght. Just has that light taste.

The British are amazing with their tv. They are the comedy kings but also I like their mysteries as well. I love Midsummer Murders and Inspector Linley. Also the Agatha Christie, Poirot, Miss Marple, Touch of Frost etc. All those ones. Their other shows are good too. I like Life Begins, Doc Martin,William and Mary, New Tricks. The Bill is good too but I don't watch it. My son just told me of new show that has been advertised. One of those terrible reality shows but I plan on watching it. It's called Meet the Neighbours and its about this Pacific Islander family who are going to go to England and do all the English stuff like havng roasts and playing cricket etc. I say old chap, that should be smashing, what?

I just saw the first three eps of S2 of SJA. Brilliant.

Checkya later Phil.

In essence, she does look rather severe.
That can work at times (Jacqueline Pierce as Servalan in Blake's 7 was attractive in a severe way), but I'll have to see her one day when the SJA Series 2 is on my telly or dvd.

G'day Llin,

No worries mate, (as we say here).

Such is life, C'est la vie etc etc. Such matters don't really bother me so, as its best to have a laugh and take things philosophically I find.
Nasty pastie's are always about I find and there's nothing I can do about it.
I just ignore my nasty yank adversaries anyway. heh heh....

By contrast I find the English to be the nicest bunch I've ever met.
I never have any grief with them and they're the kindest people I've ever run across.
Indeed I'm oft at a loss as how to properly respond as English people I've met often send me regular parcels in the post with VHS to DVD of Dr Who stories I've not seen as well as other shows. A most kind and generous people one would ever wish to meet.
Similar findings too with a few friends on the continent in a number of European countries too.
Always helpful, kind and good exchanges pertaining to our interests.
Only one nation seems to be the stumbling block though.

Finally saw Planet of Evil on weekend here as it was a bit windy and rainy in the evenings.
Gosh Lis is the life of the show in this story. She also seems to know her way about the TARDIS kit, with fetching the spectromixer for the Doctor with ease.

I wonder if kinetic motion of planets could be harnessed as an energy source as the Doctor mentions?.
It would require large scale engineering in space though, perhaps a sort of windmill to have paddle 's moved by gravity?. Just conjecture....
Our Sarah looks quite fetching too in her girly outfit, I'd have her for breakfast on toast!.
Oo-er!.....

Good to hear from you today Stardoe, I hope you're well.
I owe my felicitious, prolixive atticism to the benefits of a traditional Australian education, a fondness for the classics and the obfuscatory ratiocinatiously discombobulatory missives of the great Sir Humphrey Appleby!.
Ruddy marvellous chap really.
Its from these sources, I've learn't to incorporate in my research writings, the benefits and beauty of the English language . Which has helped my greatly in my most recent work.
Besides it confuses my adversaries (the yanks) as they struggle to comprehend with what they laughingly call their 'higher centres' and it helps keep the riff raff out as well !.
You should see my output when I'm writing in full flow, utterly incomprehensible to the rabble heh heh.....
Still I'm an ordinary bloke, Dr who, cricket and pulling the dolly birds at pubs pretty well sum me up!.
Like you, I'm working through the really good shows that were on the telly years ago and now are on DVD, as telly today is a 'consignment of geriatric shoe manufacturers'- a load of old cobblers!.
Yes Minister, The Good Life, To the Manor born, Dave Allen, Fawlty Towers, The Two Ronnies,Mind your Language, Blakes' 7, The Professionals,Doctor in Charge, Allo Allo, Blackadder, Man about the House and of course Dr Who as well as others....!.

Its an irony indeed that as Britain was in decline and awash with problems, that it still produced a golden age of quality shows such as many above, still loved and watched by people today here and elsewhere.
I can't watch 'commerical' stations as their content is simply unwatchable.

I loved the Christmas stuff last year though. The games and quizzes etc. We all could't wait to open the advent calendar each day. This is a great site. Well done Llin.

LOL. Goodness me, what a marvellous tirade, Phil. Great words. I love words, myself. A bit of a grammar guru. I won't enter into it of course, I'm sure Dr Dasha is not like that, are you Doc?

I have to agree that comercial TV here is rubbish. I don't get time to watch it anyway. The family are into buying up box sets of old shows that I watched as a kid. Nice family shows that everyone sat down to watch at 7:30 each night. Not this ridiculous reality garbage they have now. At the moment we are on holidays so Little House on the Prairie is getting a good go. We've done Family Affair, The Nanny, Wonder Woman, Bewitched, Jeannie, Flying Nun, XFiles etc. Then of course there's Doctor Who and SJA. The only commercial shows I watch as an occasional viewer are City Homicide, All Saints, Medium and Ghost Whisperer.

You would have a better choice of non pay Tv wouldn't you Dr Dasha? Here, we get 5 stations with garbage on most nights and that's it. When I was gowing up we had 2 stations. Luckily the ABC had Dr Who. :-) SBS isn't bad. I watch Inspector Rex which is an Austrian police dog show. English subtitles though. It's a great show.SBS is the foreign channel. WE also have Imparja which is an aboriginal channel but I think only people way out west can get it.

Well, I've seen the first ep now and I have to say that the hair is not as nice as the previous layered do. Previously it shaped around her face and was quite trendy, but this hair is straight down each side. Too stark and I think too young for her. It's old Sarah and I guess just doesn't suit her any more. Plus it is a 70's style. I hope they change it. The clothes she had on in the very first scene really scared me though. I thought, my God, they're going to start dressing her like a granny. But my fears were allayed after the next scene when she donned her usual jeans, waistcoat and a long shirt, and that shiny greyish coat. I must say that at times, with that hair do, I got flash backs of the old Sarah. I thought I was going to see Tom Baker jump out and wave his scarf around.
From forum: The Clothes

Dr Dasha,
The other 'fellow citizens' you mention unfortunately have been letting your side down as I've directly experienced myself over a lengthy timeframe now.

With only 2-3 exceptions, most yanks (seemingly ordinary people) I've met or spoken to have been the most insufferable American supremicists/triumphalists one would wish not to meet.
One yank twit in particular has been 'stalking' me for years, every time I publish some new work or proffer a view, out he comes like a garish jack-in-the-box, spewing forth the most horrid invective and surliness. Because someone else from another country, has done something better than they have......
I've tried quiet reasoning with him, trying to make peace but to no avail.
You can't help people who are determined to miss the point
Now the damage is done and I now oppose them, stop talking to them, ignore them and want nothing to do with them and continue on my merry way.
I conclude he and those in the U.S like him, don't want peace, just tendentious, thuggish domination of the world. (As Pertwee would say, I seem to recall another crowd like that once.....)
From these examples and many other unpleasant observations, my summation of the yanks stands. They reap what they sow.
Hubristically, they think they rule the waves, but also think they can waive the rules.
Like you I don't have pay tv, out of principle as most commerical telly is rubbish.
Now Dr who has finished for the year, thats it for me in terms of something to watch.
I only watch the news, current affairs etc on the ABC or SBS when I can.
The telly is utter bilge here in my view.

I'll wait until the DVD of S1 SJS emerges.

The final of Dr Who was alright too.
Overall the show pales to the peak of the show in the '70's, but it has its moments.
Donna was the best assistant in recent years and its a shame she suffered the same fate as Jamie and Zoe ultimately.
Donna was similar to Sarah Jane, a lippy bird with a bit of of get up and go.
Sad to see her.

Well it looks like the next dvd I'll be getting are the War Machines which I've not seen.
Reading the synopsis, I wonder if the writers and the BBC can claim intellectual theft from the yank Terminator films....

But then, I remembered that when I first became a mom, I decided that I needed a "mom hairstyle" (wash-n-go/no-fuss). So then I thought, well, maybe now that Sarah's a mom, she decided that she needed a mom hairstyle too. At least, that is how I am justifying it to myself. :) Plus, if you spend a lot of time chasing aliens, you probably don't always have time to do the whole blow-drying-with-product-and-a-round-brush thing.

I've seen a few pics of Lis lately and I can't say I like her new hair style. Perhaps when we see her in S2 it will look better but to me it's very page boyish, cut straight with no layers. I liked the layered style from S1. I also don't think that her pics on the covers of the new novels are very flattering. In fact I've had a bit of a grimmace at most of the promo pics right from the start. They tend to make her have a certain expression on her face which doesn't seem to suit her at all. You know, mysterious, suspicious etc. In the latest pics her new hair just makes her look less attractive. I don't think the people taking the pics and getting the shots etc are doing her justice. Maybe I"m being picky and when we see her on the show it will be different but I'm wondering what others think of this phenomena. I just think that one of the pics of Lis, on one of the new novels reminds me of Angelica Houston in Daddy Day Care. I'm not picking on Lis, mind, but rather the people in charge of photgraphing her. If I was her I'd not be happy to have those pics of me gracing a novel cover forever. Oh, and her choice of hair style. I think it is too harsh and the previous layered style was softer.

Hello Again Stardoe,

Yes you're right about Peri and her ruddy yank accent (what were they thinking?).
A real slump in the whole series in the '80's.

On your question of SJ and her appearance, yes she has aged but she is still a looker even though she's changed, one instinctively looks for the 'young Sarah' and still sees her at times with certain angles and characteristics, but mostly its an intellectual realisation that this is Sarah but older.

The crying is overdone, but she more than anyone knows what the Daleks mean and that implication would overcome one.
I've for example heard even the hardest of people when faced with some dire situation can be overcome with emotion.
POW's in war or injured badly soldiers call out to their mothers etc.
(which is another reminder for us all on the ghastliness of war and why there is no glory in it as the old soldiers tell us if we're wise enough to listen to them).

So Sarah's crying is understandable and she does cry in Monster of Peladon, Planet of the Spiders to name two, when she fears the Doctor is dead or dying.

Finally, I've heard of a few articles coming out of her and the SJA 2 imminent, but I'll have to wait until I see Series 1!.
Maybe for Christmas in a box set.

Meanwhile I'm keen to hear what the DVD schedule is for 2009 with more Dr who stories.
Surely a few with the great Jon Pertwee can't be too far away......

Please let me know if anyone knows anything on the 2009 schedule.

Take care Stardoe, always a pleasure to hear from you my friend.

Glad you liked the show. I watched the second part last night. It's really good. I agree with your thoughts on Rose. I liked her until they started to ram her down our throats as the be all and end all, love of the Doctor's life companion. I think it is unfair to do that. I have always welcomed the new companions and liked most of them until Tegen, Adric and Nyssa came along. Really don't know any after that beause I stopped watching after Peri and her annoying fake american accent. I liked Turlough though. He was interesting. I've seen Ace but her bad dental occlusion really was a turn off. I have to say I've liked the new DW companions better than the ones I"ve just mentioned.

So what did you think of Sarah so far? I think she's great but I was a bit worried that she might have had a bit if work done on her face. Her eyes look a bit taught. But later scenes make me think it's only a bit of botox or facial peel or something. I certainly hope she has resisted having anything done beause she is very youthful naturally and also I hate when tv producers try to disguise someone's real age. Sarah is old. That's how it is and I actually like it when the lighting shows up all her wrinkles. Looks good for her age though, but really still should be shown to be her age as well. I did not like the crying scene with Luke. it did not seem to be Sarahish. I have a thing about this. I constantly look for old Sarahisms and this was not one of those times. Not that Sarah was ever into crying but i really think this was not the way Sarah would have cried or has cried in the past, but then she was not faced with the terrible obliteration of the earth. I am really looking forward to SJA s2 beginning next Monday. Hope it's as good as the first series. I must get the DW magazine but problem is it is never in the newsagent. I think I'll have to order it.

Sarah really comes into her own in part 2

I watched the Stolen Earth last night and enjoyed seeing our Sarah in it.
Glad I'm not alone in disliking the modern Tardis interior, but call be a twit but I just find it overly distracting and cluttered.
Mind you I'm an aesthete really so the simple white original futuristic console room was more to my liking.

You raise good points Stardoe on the Doctor, but I still think the current writers are imbuing him with more than what he is.
Even the Sonic Screwdriver is more like a magic wand now!.
I've heard Terrance Dicks mention this on a dvd commentary and I agree.

I hope to watch the SJA late this yaar when the box set comes out and so I'll be interested to see if Sara's Sonic Lippy is used as a 'magic wand'.

I saw on the cut down Dr Who Confidential, that our Lis in rehersal read throughts was sitting next to Tennant too!. The centre of the show.
Good to see the 'nasty wee salt shakers' back last night with ol Davros, but the final show looks to be good.
Finally, with Rose showing up, one has a certain amount of vindication, as I thought she was mediocre at the time ans now in comparison with other assistants, (especially SJ), Rose is very much an also-ran.
Donna is much better and more traditional, even Martha is better than Rose and she too was caught in the romantic folly during her tenure.
I know there is some subjectivity in this, but to me Rose will be one of the more minor and annoying assistants akin to Tegan, Adric, Ace etc.

I'm looking forward to seeing The War Machines later this year here, as I hear Polly (Anneke Wills) was well regarded and was offered an extension on the show beyond The Faceless Ones'.
I'd like to see her in action and she's one of those assistants oft overlooked but could have been bigger .

Thanks for your comments Stardoe and I'm looking forward to Sunday night.
Good health to you,

Phil

Although I won't be able to see SJA series/season 2 right away when it airs (since I don't live in Britain), I do plan to celebrate at some point.

The DVDs of SJA series/season 1 come out in October, and I do plan to have a little party then. I'm going to have my friend and her 2 daughters (ages 11 and 10) over for a "screening party." My friend gets frustrated that the shows her kids watch on TV have such bad role models (Hannah Montana, etc.). I want her girls to see Maria, who is smart, fun, and adventurous; and who is also cool and stylie without dressing and acting provocatively. Of course, Sarah is a great role model too, but I think that the kids will probably identify more with Maria.

So, to complete this party, I will probably try to plan some fun mother-daughter type activities, too. The board game and the jelly bean game that Llin made up are things that I might try. If anyone else has any fun ideas of what I could do, let me know. And I'm eager to hear what else everyone will do to celebrate the start of series/season 2--hope that you all have fun!

Thought I'd reply back with some comments. I agree about the way they seem to have increased the magical nature of the Doctor. You know, with him being able to use his energy for various things. yes, he's been good at hypnotising people, Sarah in particular, but to be able to erase or link with minds as in that Girl in the Fireplace show, I find, is going overboard a bit. Maybe he could always do it and that's why he can hypnotise so well and I know that in.....I think it was......Deadly Assassin, the timelords there said that it is the artron energy that makes time lords telepathic. They commented that the Doctor has a vast amount of artron energy, more than normal, due to his travels and therefore was way more telepathic. So I suppose now after all this time travelling trough the vortex..........he's become more powerful. i like that the TARDIS is made to show its true potential on this finale. i don't mind that but I do dislike the interior. It's too big and downright ugly. And I don't agree that it should have all those levers and pumps that he needs to turn and move and pump the whole time. This machine was made by people who can harness and manipulate the time vortex and yet the TARDIS has levers and pumps? Give me a break. I liked the Peter Davidson console. It should be even better than that one now. We have microchips and digital stuff. The timelords and even the Dr should be way past that now. So I totally agree with the TARDIS. YOu will get to see it flown properly in the finale.

I'll go. Enjoy it. I think they did a great job of incorporating everyone in it. I really think it was big screen material. Sarah is fantastic and I'm so glad to see that rose has layed off on the mascara at last.

Hello Stardoe,

I thank you for your insights into the final shows with our Sarah. I'll be watching for her in particular in the final two stories and I agree with you she is already acting like The Doctor
in her own show and presumably in the final two stories of Dr Who.
Mind you she was always quite wilful in the '70's and often helping the Doctor on her own.
Eg. in Terror of the Zygons, without Sarah, UNIT and the Doctor wouldn't know something about the aliens, a sample of their technology and that the Fox Inn (In West Sussex was it?) was being bugged. Clearly Sarah was a pivotal 'part of the team'.
I'll be mindful of that as I view it, bearing in mind that last night here in Hobart I saw a few previews for Sunday, with lots of Dalek spaceships zooming about an a collage of Dr who associates appearing with a Dalek or two doing what they do best. Looks good.

Also, I'm sympatico with your assessment of the lovey dovey nonsense with Rose and later Martha.
I was initially positive, but I'm afraid my view of them both declined as the romantic aspect was pushed.
This is a frequent complaint I hear from many people.

Donna I agree is more traditional, she's also a little older, more mature and not afraid to get a bit lippy if she doesn't like something.
There is a touch of Sarah in there.
I dislike the quasi 'deification' of the Doctor though in some quarters.
There is a tendency in some stories and with some people to confer on him a 'Christ-like'
aspect that I feel is inapt.

Call me a twit, but I still think the Tardis interior is too cluttered and confusing.
I prefer the original white futuristic interior so the actors could be properly seen.
Either that of the Edwardian console room in the Masque of Madragora/Hand of fear stories with the wood panelling.
That one would be good to see back.

Thanks again Stardoe for your insights, I'll be sure to be watching on Sunday night here.
Good health to you.

Hello Phil
Yes I had heard that the Brain of Morbius is out on cd but also was going to come out on DVD. On one of the other commentaries, Tom Baker said that it was his favourite, which doesn't surprise me as he has a dark side to his nature. I love B of M and hope this is true but i haven't heard much on the subject. I would love to see more Sarah stories on DVD and I think we are lucky in that she has the SJA show to lift her profile once again, even though I think they were some of the best stories anyway.

I hope you get to see dw this week and next. Sarah is not what I would call a companion in this. She acts more like another Doctor in her own right. I think she plays an important role, in that she seems to function without the aide of the doctor and uses her good old sarah initiative and bravery to do may things. Not great things but little things that are appreciated by us. She uses her sonic lipstick and makes a big decision and has another device that only she could get her hands on as an "ordinary" earth woman. I think she's more spcial than the others. Elevated from "just" a companion. Interested in what others think of this. My only disapointment is that she and the doctor really don't speak to each other at all apart from at the end.

I liked Martha quite alot when she came on. I thought the stories were different and I loved that Rose had gone and taken the lovely dovey garbage with her. I liked Martha beause she was fresh and she really was over awed by the time travel etc, often showing her excitement which most normal people would. She seemed quite normal to me. I really do like Donna too. Definitely NOT in love with the doctor but still wanting to travel with him forever beause of the awe of it all. [Like Sarah] How can one ever go back to a normal life after that?

Anyway, hope the eps are enjoyed. Looking forward to people's comments about Sarah.

Hello Stardoe,

Yes, I'm quite looking forward to seeing our Sarah again here for the final shows.
Good to see how the latest assistants compare to our Sarah.

I hear too that late this year, the box set of the Sarah Jane Adventures dvd will be out.
To my knowledge the show has never been aired here in Australia, so the only way I can see it is to buy the dvd set.

Finally, I've not heard of any more Sarah dvd's from the '70's coming out.
The War Games seems a goer early next year and I've seen a list of stories where commentaries have been made (or partial) where some good Pertwee/Baker are in the list, including many with our Sarah.

Reading the rationale by the 2entertain crowd, they seem to like completing whole series and then releasing bex sets, thus Revenge of the Cybermen seems logical to proceed to fill in Series 12 and I do recall this year listen to Lis in commentaries that she has watched that story again this year.
This makes me wonder if this story is coming next year but I admit I have no special knowledge merely reasoning it out.

As an aside, there was some thinking that dual box sets would appear by 2entertain of stories side by side or with some close link.

The Kinda/Snakedance combo is mooted in this regard, I've thought too that the Peladon
pairing would be logical and Lis has recently done the audio CD of the Monster of Peladon (Which I'm waiting to receive after 5 weeks since I placed by order at the Hobart ABC shop).
So I wonder if at some point if the Peladon series will get a combo release.
As to when, well WHO knows............

If anyone has any news please feel free to let us know.

Good to hear from you again Stardoe.

Good health,
