Text auto-completion without TAGS file

In most Cocoa applications pressing F5 or ESC in a text field shows a list of possible auto-completions for a word. In addition to a standard dictionary, the words are also taken from the current text being edited. E.g. if I was writing this is message in TextEdit, I could auto-complete words I have written before, like 'applications' and 'auto-complete' without first generating a TAGS table file.

Could this feature make in to Aquamacs? Generating TAGS files for random text files is quite cumbersome.

I just figured it out that the kind of auto-completion I was looking for is called Dynamic Abbrev Expansion in emacs: http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/emacs/Dynamic-Abbrevs.html#Dynamic-Abbrevs

M-/ should do the job. It would be great though, if a list was shown when pressing the the abbrev key. But I can live with this.
